A glimpse of Wiki-culture : leader election

· rtnF

Once you got involved with wiki-culture long enough, you will encounter one of the rare special event : "leader election sessions". Here, anyone brave enough could nominate themselves and step up for the candidacy. Meanwhile, the rest might nominate someone else. But, on the flip side, if the nominated one declined the offer, then it's over.

After the nomination phase is over, the phase will be progressed into the next part : the questioning phase. Here, anyone could attack (like, literally) the candidate with any kind of question they could came up with. Some cases, the questions are so toxic that it resembles a kangaroo court against high ranking noble in the midst of revolution.

Then, i stumbled across a quite wholesome passage from OSMF Board Election page.

You are kindly asked to be respectful in your tone and try to phrase questions in an open way without already implying a certain answer or trick questions which are superficially about something else than what you want to know.

Seriously, the questioners really, really have to read this passage first and consider the feelings of the candidates for once.
